OUT TO PASTURE - THE TOUR
Maybe 50 isn't so fabulous after all?
Written by Michelle Carter
Directed by Jenny Connors
Starring Alison Gilbreath & Featuring Erik Dahl
After its success at Sutter Street Theatre in November of 2021, Out to Pasture is going on a local tour! If you missed the first run, or just can't wait to see it again, we'll be appearing at The Ooley in Sacramento, The Stage at Burke Junction in Cameron Park, and Sutter Theater Center for the Arts in Yuba City.
Jennifer is a hard-working, married, mother of two trying to maintain her social life, love life, and sanity while coming to terms with turning 50. Out to Pasture explores the humorous and raw moments of grappling with physical changes, a changing identity, jobs, kids, aging parents, and society's stereotypes. At turns, thought-provoking and hilarious, Out to Pasture will strike a chord with women of any age.
The second original work to be produced by Women's Theatre Collective, Out to Pasture is a one-woman show that gives audiences an inside look at the many facets of a woman. Audiences have laughed, cried, and sang out loud, calling "Out to Pasture" an experience more than just a play.
Our Recent Tour
Out to Pasture opened at Sutter Street Theatre in Folsom, CA November 20th, 2021. The run was met with overwhelmingly positive responses. Audiences raved about the show, sharing what it meant to them to relate so completely with a character's story.
We wanted to give that experience to as many audiences as possible. In celebration of Women's History Month, we took the show on a local tour to The Ooley in Sacramento, The Stage at Burke Junction in Cameron Park, and Sutter Theater Center for the Arts in Yuba City. We want to thank all of the theaters and arts groups who welcomed us into their spaces and supported this work. The local tour may be done but we expect more great things for Out to Pasture!
